KINGSTON, R.I. – Saint Louis wrapped up its indoor track and field season this weekend at the Atlantic 10 Conference indoor track and field championships on the campus of the University of Rhode Island.
Among the highlights for the Billikens was Margo Richardson's run in the mile. She finished first in 4:56.79 to repeat as the conference champion in the event. Richardson also placed third in the 3,000 meters, crossing the finish in 9:47.12.
A pair of Billikens finished in the top three in the 5,000 meters. Annika Gomell finished second overall in a time of 16:54.77, while Jessica Hoefert was third with a time of 16:55.37.
Naya Owusu was second in the high jump with a mark of 1.73 meters.
The women's 4x400-meter relay, consisting of Kita Alvares, Allison Walter, Emma Kidd and Hannah Rohde, finished third overall in a time of 3:50.92.
On the men's side, Hiob Gebisso placed sixth in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:28.80, placing just ahead of seventh-place Michael Scolarici (8:28.90). Scolarici also finished fifth in the 5,000 meters in a time of 14:51.82.
The men's 4x800-meter relay squad of Jeff Orf, Stewart Van Horne, Albert Marban and Pat Sheil finished second overall with a time of 7:50.83.
George Mason won the team title on the women's side, while Rhode Island claimed the men's title. The SLU women finished seventh overall, while the men's squad placed eighth.
