ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis wrapped up competition in the third annual Billiken Invitational Saturday at at the SLU Medical Center Stadium.
Among the highlights for the Billikens was Michael Reader's performance in the high jump. He cleared 2.01 meters for a PR and a new school record.
Kita Alvares matched her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing first overall and setting a new facility record with a time of 59.57. She also won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.59.
Margo Richardson was the winner in the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish line in 4:28.52. Allison Walter placed first in the 400 meters with a time of 56.35. Laura Schlueter won the 800 meters, turning in a time of 2:18.43.
Naya Owusu won the high jump with a leap of 1.72 meters. Hannah Kuenzel emerged victorious in the discus with a throw of 41.60 meters, just off her own school record. Kuenzel also won the shot put with a toss of 13.10 meters.
The women's 4x400-meter relay, comprised of Alvares, Walter, Schlueter and Hannah Rohde, placed first with a time of 3:46.34.
On the men's side, Jonathan Goodwin ran the 200 meters in 22.97, a new PR and a time that was good for third overall out of four heats. Andrew Sloan was fourth in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:59.20. Deejay Owens posted a PR in the long jump with a leap of 19-9.
Luke Hibbeler registered a PR in the 400-meter hurdles with a third-place finish of 53.64. Todd Johnson was third in the shot put with a throw of 13.94 meters, while Albert Marban finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.20.
