CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Louis track and field competed in the Joey Haines Invitational over the weekend in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Several Billikens also traveled to California to compete in the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and the Stanford Invitational. At Stanford, Margo Richardson posted a new school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:20.27. Results and a recap of Friday's action in California is available by clicking here.
The Billikens had numerous top three finishes at SEMO on Saturday. Kayla Snyder finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:48.25. Nicole Delesdernier was the second-place finisher in the javelin with a heave of 117-03.
The women's 4x400-meter team, comprised of Marina White, Emma Kidd, Britta Engstrom and Brooklynn Bastain finished second with a time of 4:02.03.
On the men's side, Griffin McCurren finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 50.29, while Luke Hibbeler was third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.29.
Michael Reader tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 6-4.75.
The men's 4x400-meter relay of McCurren, Tommy Whittaker, Nathan Hall and Kyle Clinkingbeard finished third in a time of 3:24.2.
In the overall team scores, both the men's and women's team placed third out of five teams.
SLU is back in action next weekend at the Billiken Invitational at the SLU Medical Center Stadium. The meet gets underway Friday at 5 p.m., while Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m.
