THE BASICS
Kirsten Clemens, assisted by Maddie Pokorny, scored her fifth goal of the season with 3:19 remaining in the first overtime to give Saint Louis a 2-1 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Rhode Island Sunday afternoon at the URI Soccer Complex. The Billikens improved to 7-4 overall and 1-1 in the A-10, while the Rams dipped to 3-7-1, 0-2.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
After going seven seasons without a golden-goal victory, the Billikens now have two this year after beating Rhode Island. The first occurred at SIUE Sept. 11 (2-1 in double OT) … after netting the game-winner, Kirsten Clemens is atop the SLU scoring chart with 13 points (5G, 3A) and is tied for the team lead with five goals … Hanna Benben (five saves) went the distance in goal and notched her 20th career victory, tying Hannah Koesterer for third place on the Billikens' all-time list … two of Benben's saves came in overtime … Maddie Pokorny's three points are a career high … Pokorny's goal was her third of the season, and her assist was the freshman's first as a Billiken … in addition to Benben, Kacey Bright played the entire game.
