ST. LOUIS – College baseball blog D1Baseball.com has ranked Saint Louis as the 96th-best college baseball program “of the current era.” Programs were rated by recent success (within 5-10 years), coaching staff quality, facilities, scholarship/financial aid situation, conference dynamics and recruiting/player development.
Saint Louis head baseball coach Darin Hendrickson has led the Billikens to four consecutive Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season titles. Additionally, the Billikens have set the program win record three times. This season, the SLU freshman class was ranked 82nd in the NCAA by Perfect Game. Saint Louis has had at least one player drafted in each of the past three seasons including James Norwood, a seventh-round selection of the Chicago Cubs in 2014. Recent Billiken draftees Colton Frabasilio, Jake Henson and Alec Solé have even been invited to their respective clubs' instructional leagues.
Saint Louis plays on its lone fall competition date, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m. at the Billiken Sports Center. The Billikens take on the Ontario Blue Jays.
