Costanzo Added to Billiken Baseball Staff

ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis University interim head baseball coach Miles Miller has announced the addition of Joe Costanzo to the Billiken coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Costanzo returns to Saint Louis after previously playing for the Billikens during the 2023 season, helping the team to a runner-up finish in the Atlantic 10 Championship.

"I am excited to welcome Joe back to Saint Louis University Baseball," said Miller. "He comes highly recommended by coaches who I have a lot of respect for and he has been in programs that have won at an impressive rate since he started his career. His ties to SLU Baseball mean a lot to me and I'm proud to have a former Billiken back with us."

Before rejoining SLU, Costanzo served at Oral Roberts University, where he most recently worked as Director of Player Development. Earlier in 2025, he held the Director of Baseball Operations position at ORU, managing travel, technology systems, and opponent scouting.

Prior to his time at Oral Roberts, Costanzo was an assistant coach at Johnson County Community College, helping lead the Cavaliers to a top-three national ranking in team fielding percentage (.976) and conference-leading marks in batting average (.355) and slugging percentage (.561). He also gained experience coaching with Building Champions Baseball Academy, where he worked with infielders and hitters across the high school levels.

Costanzo earned his bachelor's degree in biopsychology from McKendree University, where he was a four-year starter and GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Honoree. He also holds a post-baccalaureate certificate in public health from Saint Louis University.
