THE BASICS
• Saint Louis registered a season-high .365 attack percentage and collected its first win of the year, 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-13), over Central Michigan Friday afternoon at Indiana State's Sycamore Invitational.
• Maya Taylor swatted a match-high 16 kills (16-6-33, .303) and joined Isabelle Walsh (10-0-15, .667) and Juliana Phillips (6-0-7, .857) in leading the Billiken attack.
• Cayce Chaykowsky led all players with a career-high and SLU season-high 16 digs.
FIRST SET
After Central Michigan grabbed a 9-6 lead with a 5-0 run, Saint Louis answered with its own 5-0 spurt for an 11-9 edge. Leading 16-14, the Billikens caught fire and outscored the Chippewas 9-3 down the stretch.
SECOND SET
SLU trailed 13-6 before using an 11-3 surge to take its first lead of the set, 17-16. CMU pulled even at 17, 18 and 19, but a 4-0 run put the Billikens in front 23-19. The Chippewas saved three set points before Saint Louis claimed victory.
THIRD SET
The Bills were tested early, seeing a 7-1 advantage shrink to 7-5. It was all SLU from there, however, as the Billikens went on a 10-2 tear to build a double-digit lead on their way to set and match triumphs.

• Saint Louis limited Central Michigan to a .176 attack percentage.
• The Billikens had a season-high 10 service aces.
• Kennedy Cordia distributed a season-high 33 assists.
• Sien Gallop notched a Billiken season-high four service aces and added six digs.
