ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis broke open a close game with a big third quarter and went on to defeat McKendree 74-48 in an exhibition game Friday night at Chaifetz Arena.

Ciaja Harbison scored a game-high 19 points and Brooke Flowers posted a double-double of 15 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for the Billikens, who outscored McKendree 27-10 in the third quarter to lead 51-31.

Myia Clark (11 points) and Rachel Kent (10) also scored in double figures for SLU. Myriama Smith Traore and Julia Martinez tallied 11 rebounds and a game-high seven assists, respectively, and Martinez added seven rebounds. Flowers registered a game-high five blocks, and Smith Traore had four rejections.

Saint Louis led just 13-12 after one quarter and 24-21 at intermission. But the Billikens shot 60 percent (12-of-20) from the floor in the third quarter while holding McKendree to 3-of-16.

SLU continued its hot shooting in the final stanza, connecting on 10-of-18 from the field.

Madison Hart led McKendree with 12 points and seven rebounds. Jenna Krause scored 11 points.

The Billikens open the regular season Wednesday, Nov. 6, at home against UT Martin. Tip time at Chaifetz Arena is 7 p.m.
