ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head men's soccer coach Kevin Kalish today announced the Billikens' competition schedule. The matches will be played this spring as the Atlantic 10 Conference previously announced that no competitions would be held in fall 2020 due to COVID-19 precautions.
The Billikens' 14-match slate features eight non-conference and six conference tilts. The Atlantic 10 Conference Championship will be held April 15-17 and will consist of the league's top four teams. The NCAA Championship will include 36 programs instead of the usual 48. The NCAA field will be announced April 18.
Saint Louis starts the season with a two-game homestand, facing Kansas City on Wednesday, Feb. 3, and Missouri State on Sunday, Feb. 7, at Robert R. Hermann Stadium. The Billikens play their first road game on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Marquette.
The Bronze Boot returns to Hermann Stadium on Wednesday, Feb. 17, when the Billikens host SIUE in a 7 p.m. kickoff. SLU will be looking to retain the Bronze Boot trophy after defeating SIUE in an overtime thriller in 2019 in Edwardsville.
The Billikens have non-conference road games at Butler (Sunday, Feb. 21) and vs. Xavier in Indianapolis (Friday, Feb. 26).
SLU welcomes Columbia College (Mo.) to Hermann Stadium on Tuesday, March 2. The Cougars are coached by former Billiken John Klein, the father of SLU junior John Klein. The non-conference slate concludes Sunday, March 7, when the Billikens host Lipscomb at Hermann Stadium.
For the A-10 season, the Billikens are in a pod with Dayton, Duquesne and St. Bonaventure. All four teams will play each other once at home and once on the road.
SLU opens the league schedule by hosting Dayton on March 13. SLU is home for its final two regular-season matches – vs. St. Bonaventure on Saturday, April 3 and vs. Duquesne on Saturday, April 10. In between, the Billikens play three consecutive road games at St. Bonaventure (Wednesday, March 17), at Duquesne (Saturday, March 20) and at Dayton (Sunday, March 28).
Information on the ESPN+ streaming schedule, as well as attendance at game at Hermann Stadium, will be released in the coming days.
