•Tied with Dayton for second place in the Atlantic 10 Conference, SLU has clinched a quarterfinal home game in the eight-team A-10 Championship that begins Oct. 30-31. The date and time for that game will be announced Sunday. A win Sunday secures the No. 2 tournament seed for the Billikens.
•The Billikens lead the Rams 12-2, including a current seven-game winning streak, in a series that dates to 2005. SLU is 3-2 vs. Rhode Island in Kingston. The Bills were 4-1 winners at Rhody in the teams' most recent meeting in 2019;
Hannah Friedrich and
Brionna Halverson scored a goal apiece.
•SLU is coming off a 1-0 home win over Richmond Thursday night that saw the Billikens post season highs in shots (27), shots on goal (15) and corner kicks (16). Meanwhile, Rhode Island dropped a 3-2 decision at George Mason.
•Each of SLU's nine wins this season has been a shutout; a 10th clean sheet came in a 0-0 draw vs. Missouri State. The Bills' five straight shutouts are one shy of the team record of six, set in 2018.
•The Billikens have 135 corner kicks this season and have allowed only 44. They lead the A-10 and rank fifth nationally with 7.94 corners per game. In league games, Saint Louis averages 9.22 corners and owns an 83-14 lead over its opponents.
•SLU also tops the conference in goals against average (0.64, 25th nationally) and shutout percentage (.588, 10 shutouts in 17 games, 15th nationally). The Billikens are second in shots (15.35/game) and shots on goal (7.00/game) and third in save percentage (.810) and assists (1.12/game).
•
Emily Puricelli leads the A-10 with eight shutouts (10th nationally) and a 0.66 goals against average (29th nationally).
•
Emily Gaebe leads the Billikens in all games with six goals, 15 points, 40 shots and 24 shots on goal. In A-10 matches, Gaebe has team highs of nine points, three assists (tied), 23 shots and 15 shots on goal.
•In the A-10 rankings, Gaebe is fifth in goals (0.35/game) and shots on goal (1.41/game), eighth in points (0.88/game) and tied for 10th in shots (2.35/game).
•
Abbie Miller (4G, 3A) is second with 11 points. Miller has three game-winning goals, tying for second in the A-10.
•In conference play,
Caroline Kelly has a team-high four goals.
•The Billikens are on track for a sixth consecutive season of allowing fewer than 10 goals in A-10 regular-season play. Since the streak began in 2016, SLU has yielded just 26 goals to conference opponents in 57 regular-season games.
•Saint Louis' underclassmen are contributing in a big way. In all games, freshmen and sophomores have scored 16 of the Billikens' 21 goals. In A-10 play, they have netted 11 of 15.
•Over the past 11 games, SLU has outshot its opponents 201-79 overall and 99-27 in shots on goal.
•The Billikens are 34-2-1 in A-10 regular-season games since the beginning of 2018. Add an 8-0 mark in tournament games and the record is 42-2-1 vs. league opponents during that span.
