GAME NOTES: Saint Louis | George Mason
• 11th-seeded Saint Louis opens the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship with a first round matchup against 14th-seeded George Mason Wednesday evening at Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Del.
• The Billikens have reached the semifinals of the A-10 Championship in five of the last six seasons, holding a 9-6 record in tournament contests over that span.
• Saint Louis leads the all-time series 8-3 over George Mason, including a road victory this season on Feb. 23. The Billikens held GMU to just 35 points and Brooke Flowers tallied a double-double in that meeting.
• SLU is led by senior guard Ciaja Harbison. She finished the regular season ranked third in the league with 17.8 points per game. Her average of 19.5 points in A-10 games only was second in the conference. She scored in double figures in every game this season.
• Harbison enters the championship second on the Billikens' all-time scoring list, with 1,676 points. She's also top five in assists, free throws made and steals.
• Flowers ended the regular season ranked third in the NCAA with 3.3 blocks per game, while also finishing 11th nationally with an average of 11.5 rebounds. With 257, the center ranked seventh among active players in NCAA Division I in blocked shots.
• Flowers was one of just two players in the A-10 to average a double-double on the year.
Julia Martinez's 4.5 assists per game in A-10 contests only ranked fifth in the league. She collected her first career double-double Feb. 19 at La Salle with a career-best 12 assists, along with 10 rebounds. With seven points, she finished just three points shy of the school's first triple-double.
Natalie McNeal, the only Billiken to stay healthy and appear in all 26 games, recorded double-digit points in 10 of SLU's 14 league games this year.
