•Saint Louis (3-11) hosts Northern Kentucky (8-11) in the Billikens' home opener Tuesday, March 8. Game time at the Billiken Sports Center is 2 p.m.
•The Billikens and Norse are squaring off for a second consecutive season. The teams split two games at Southern Illinois' Saluki Invitational in 2021.
•After going 12-for-21 in seven games last week,
Gabbie Kowalik upped her batting average to .488. That mark leads the Atlantic 10 Conference and ranks 15th in the nation.
•Kowalik also is among the top 100 nationally in slugging percentage (.767, first in the A-10) and on-base percentage (.511, second in the A-10), ranking 91st in both categories.
•In addition, Kowalik tops the conference in OPS (1.278), hits (21), doubles (five), triples (two) and total bases (33).

Kendall Johnson leads the A-10 with five sacrifice bunts and is seventh in the nation in sac bunts per game (0.38).

Kristi Stevenson ranks second on the team and 20th in the A-10 with a .293 batting mark.

Sadie Wise hit her first two home runs of the season last week, increasing her school-record career total to 35.
•Saint Louis is second in the A-10 in doubles (18), triples (four) and ERA (4.59). The Billikens are third in fielding percentage (.966) and sacrifice bunts (seven).
•Northern Kentucky, a member of the Horizon League, brings a three-game losing streak to Midtown. The Norse have played four games vs. nationally ranked opponents.
•The Billikens begin A-10 play at Fordham March 12-13. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game start at 11 a.m. Central.
