•No. 4 seed Saint Louis (22-27, 13-10 A-10) battles No. 1 seed George Washington (33-13, 21-3 A-10) in the second round of the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Championship Thursday, May 12. First pitch at the George Mason Softball Complex in Fairfax, Va., is slated for 11 a.m. Central.

•Regular-season champion George Washington earned a first-round bye, while SLU advanced with a 7-3 first-round triumph over Dayton Wednesday afternoon.
•The Saint Louis-George Washington winner advances to the winner's bracket final to face either No. 2 seed Fordham or No. 3 seed Saint Joseph's. If the Billikens lose, they would play an elimination game Thursday at 4 p.m. Central vs. No. 5 seed Dayton.
•Saint Louis has a 4-1 A-10 Championship record vs. George Washington; however, the Colonials won the most recent meeting 4-3 in the opening round of the 2019 tournament.
•GW won two of three from SLU in the regular-season series played in Washington, D.C. The Colonials won the opener 3-1 and game two 6-3, while the Billikens claimed a 6-1 victory in the finale.
•Chloe Wendling fired a 4-hitter in the 6-1 win, striking out five and walking only one. Combining her two starts in the series, Wendling posted a 2.15 ERA, fanned nine and allowed 11 hits in 13 innings.
•Sadie Wise was 6-for-10 with two doubles and three RBI in the series.
•Kristi Stevenson was 5-for-9 with two doubles and two RBI.
•Jane Kaniecki was 4-for-9 with a team-high four RBI.
•Natalie Sullivan also was 4-for-9, including a triple and a double.
•Allie Herron went 4-for-11 with a double.
•In game two, Taylor Hochman registered what was then her career high of nine strikeouts.
•Wise extended her hitting streak to 10 games with a 2-for-4 effort vs. Dayton. She is batting .514 (18-for-35) during the streak.
•With 172 career RBI, Wise needs just two more to surpass the school mark of 173 (Allie Macfarlane, 2015-18). It would be Wise's ninth Saint Louis career record.
