WASHINGTON – Freshman duo Jetta Brenning and Ellie Rink earned Atlantic 10 postseason honors after breakout rookie campaigns for the Billikens, the league announced Thursday.
 
Brenning was named to the All-Conference Second Team and the A-10 All-Rookie Team. She finished the regular season third in the league in total assists and assists per set with 912 assists and 8.52 per set. Her 912 assists rank fifth all time by a Saint Louis freshman. Nationally, she was among the top 10 freshmen in total assists.
 
Brenning earned A-10 Rookie of the Week twice and recorded two triple-doubles, including the program's first since 2012 and the first by a freshman since 2006. She is the first Billiken with two triple-doubles in a season since 2002. She also ranked second on the team and ninth in the league with 39 aces, while posting 2.78 digs per set, good for second on the roster. She finished the year with 15 double-doubles to go along with her two triple-doubles.
 
Rink earned a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team after one of the most productive freshman seasons in school history. She collected three A-10 Rookie of the Week honors and delivered three straight 23-plus kill double-doubles during the Missouri Challenge. Her 29 kills against Missouri State are tied for the fourth most by a freshman in the nation this season.
 
Rink closed her freshman campaign with 347 kills, 215 digs and 22 service aces across 104 sets. She averaged 3.34 kills per set, ranking sixth in the Atlantic 10 and fifth all time among Billiken freshmen. Her 3.74 points per set ranked third all-time by a Saint Louis freshman. She also posted 16 double-digit kill matches and eight double-doubles.
 
Together, Brenning and Rink formed one of the league's most impactful freshman tandems, combining for more than 500 kills, 900 assists and nearly 520 digs.
