Bradley out-scored the Saint Louis Billikens by 20 points in the second half en route to an 86-56 victory in non-conference action on Tuesday evening. Krystle Hatton led the Billikens with career highs of eight points and 15 rebounds. Hatton had 10 offensive boards.
The Billikens hit two 3-pointers early to grab the lead. Kerry Rapp tied the game at 18-18 with a layup at the eight minute mark of the first half. Bradley was up 24-22 with 4:54 to play before intermission, but the Braves closed the half with a 10-2 run to take a 34-24 lead at the break.
Bradley held a double-digit lead into the second half and slowly built the advantage to as much as 18 points at 53-35 with 9:34 left to play. Mia Johnson scored all seven points in a 7-2 SLU run as the Billikens closed the gap to 55-42 with eight minutes left in the game. However, Bradley used a 12-2 run over the next four minutes and slowly pulled away down the stretch.
Krystle Hatton 15 rebounds were the most by a SLU player since Mia Johnson scored a game-high 21 points, while Heather King added 10 points and seven rebounds. Dena Williams and Jen Brown both scored 17 points to lead Bradley. The Billikens hurt themselves with 28 turnover, while the Braves shot 57 percent from the field.
The Billikens lost their seventh straight game and fall to 1-9. The Braves won their fourth in a row and improved to 7-2. The Billikens take a week-long holiday break and return to play on Tue, Dec. 28, with a game at Ball State.
