Box Score

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure received a complete game from starter Cody Vincent en route to posting a 4-2 victory over the Billikens in the finale of a three-game series Sunday at Fred Handler Park. SLU starter Zach Outman (Lindbergh) was saddled with the loss despite a strong eight innings, and Tom Pinnell (Edwardsville) provided the Billikens' spark on offense with two hits and two RBIs.

The loss drops the Billikens to 17-20 and 5-10 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while the Bonnies improve to 19-14 and 9-6 in the league.

In a game opposite of yesterday's 14-10 slugfest, runs were hard to come by thanks to strong pitching by Vincent and Outman. St. Bonaventure struck first in the second when Anthony Randich scored on a fielder's choice RBI by Jamie Wallschlaege.

The Bonnies made the score 3-0 in the fifth when Brandon Salerno recorded a two-out single to drive in a pair of runs.

Meanwhile, SLU stranded runners in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings before getting on the board with two runs in the eighth. Mike Beal drew a one-out walk, then advanced to third on Andrew Guerra's 15th double of the season. Pinnell then drove in both of them with a single to right field to cut SBU's lead in half at 4-2.

However, Vincent held SLU scoreless in the ninth to secure the 4-2 victory and the series win for St. Bonaventure.

Ramee Yacoub and Guerra extended their nine and eight game hitting streaks, respectively, in the contest. Outman allowed four runs (three runs) on six hits in his first-career complete game.

The Billikens return to action on Tuesday when they travel to face UT Martin in a 2 p.m. game.
