Fenton, Mo. -
The No. 16 Louisville Cardinals received two goals from Hayley Turner and eased past the Saint Louis Billikens in field hockey action on Sunday at the Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton, Mo.
The Cardinals carried the play early, but SLU keeper Alex LaBarge kept the visitors off the board. However, Turner scored the only goal the Cardinals would need at the 11:20 mark to begin the UofL burst. She scored again nearly three minutes later. The Cardinals then tallied four goals in just under five minutes to take control of the contest.
The Billikens managed two shots in the second half, but were kept off the scoreboard by Heather Bustanoby and Erin Conrad, who combined on the shutout for Louisville. Nicole Kent had the best scoring chance for the Billikens, but Conrad made a diving save to prevent SLU from tallying. Turner and Simone Attles both registered a hat trick for the Cardinals as they closed out with game with 13 goals.
The Billikens fall to 1-4, while the Cardinals improve to 4-2.
