FORMER DRAKE COACHES LEAD
BILLIKENS AGAINST BULLDOGS - Saint
Louis will try to even its record at 6-6 heading into the holiday break when
the Billikens take on Drake (3-6) Friday, Dec. 21. Tip time at the Knapp Center
in Des Moines, Iowa, is 5:05 p.m. SLU is led by first-year head coach Lisa Stone, who guided Drake to a 64-27 record
and two NCAA Tournament berths (including a Sweet 16 appearance) in three
seasons (2000-03) at the helm. Stone was succeeded by current Saint Louis
assistant coach Amy
Stephens, who last season
concluded a nine-year tenure in Des Moines with a 151-130 ledger. Stephens led
Drake to one NCAA appearance and four WNIT bids.

LAST TIME OUT - Mallory Eggert and Lorreal Jones registered 15
points and a game-high-tying eight rebounds apiece, but Memphis took command in
the second half and posted a 65-58 victory over Saint Louis Wednesday at
Chaifetz Arena. Eggert was 6-of-11 from the field, and her team-high five
offensive rebounds tied her season high. Jones added a team-high two steals. Courtney Webb tallied 11 points
and six rebounds, while Jenna Mueller grabbed a season-high six boards. Jacy Bradley and Desirae Ball had seven (game
high) and four assists, respectively.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS - Lorreal Jones leads Saint Louis
in scoring (12.1 ppg), rebounding (7.8 rpg) and offensive rebounding (3.1 orpg)
and is shooting a solid 47.3 percent from the field. Mallory Eggert is second in
rebounding (7.2 rpg) and offensive rebounding (2.7 orpg) and third in scoring
(11.1 ppg) while shooting a team-high 51.1 percent from the floor. Courtney Webb is second in
scoring (11.2 ppg), averages 4.3 rebounds and has a team-high 19 3-pointers. Jacy Bradley averages 7.5
points and 4.0 rebounds while leading the squad in assists (5.1 apg). Desirae Ball owns
a 7.3 scoring mark and leads the team with 13 steals. The Bills are +6.3 in rebounding
margin, are shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 71.3 percent from the
free-throw line, and are allowing 56.6 points per game.
SCOUTING DRAKE - The
Bulldogs of the Missouri Valley Conference are 3-6, but four of their losses
have been by six or fewer points, including one overtime contest. Kyndal Clark
(13.7 ppg), Morgan Reid (10.9 ppg) and Carly Grenfell (8.6 ppg) are Drake's
leading scorers. Grenfell is 20-of-43 (.465) from beyond the arc. Reid collects
8.2 rebounds per game, followed by Clark with 5.3. Alyssa Marschner leads the
Bulldogs with 5.6 assists per game. Drake averages 64 points and allows an
average of 67.2 points.
THE SLU-DRAKE SERIES - With a 62-60 victory in St. Louis a year ago, the
Bulldogs took a 3-2 series lead.
