After defeating No. 6 seed Butler in opening-round action Friday, No. 11 seed Saint Louis (12-18) takes on No. 3 seed Fordham (22-7)
in an Atlantic 10 Championship quarterfinal game Saturday, March 9. Tip-off at
Saint Joseph's University's Hagan Arena in Philadelphia is scheduled for 6:30
p.m. (CT). The Saint Louis-Fordham winner advances to Sunday's second semifinal
contest that tips at 3 p.m. (CT). The opponent will be No. 2 Charlotte or No.
10 Temple.

LAST TIME OUT - Saint Louis
overcame a 10-point deficit early in the second half and defeated Butler 44-41
Friday night. Jacy
Bradley
(8-of-8 FTs) and Lorreal Jones scored 12 points apiece, and Mallory Eggert added 10. Jones
and Eggert grabbed eight and seven rebounds, respectively, to lead SLU to a
41-38 advantage on the boards. Saint Louis outscored Butler 15-6 from the
free-throw line.
BILLIKEN LEADERS - SLU features a
balanced attack, with five players averaging between 8.2 and 11.2 points. Lorreal Jones leads
the way with 11.2 ppg, followed by Jacy Bradley (10.8 ppg), Courtney Webb (9.2 ppg), Desirae Ball (9.0 ppg) and Mallory Eggert (8.2 ppg). Jones also
tops the SLU charts in rebounding (8.4 rpg), offensive rebounding (3.3 orpg)
and field goal shooting (.448). Eggert pulls down 6.1 rebounds per game, and
Bradley is third with 4.2 rpg. Bradley averages a team-high 4.7 assists. Webb
and Bradley lead the Bills in 3-pointers with 47 and 40, respectively.
SCOUTING FORDHAM - The Rams, who lost only to Dayton and Duquesne in conference play, bring
a six-game winning streak into the A-10 Championship. Marah Strickland (14.7
ppg) and Erin Rooney (14.4 ppg) are neck-and-neck for the team's scoring lead.
Samantha Clark (8.7 ppg), Abigail Corning (8.6 ppg) and Arielle Collins (8.5
ppg) provide solid scoring support. Corning (7.1 rpg) and Clark (6.8 rpg) are
Fordham's leading rebounders. Rooney averages a team-high 3.7 assists; Collins
leads the Rams with 2.4 steals per game; and Clark has rejected 47 shots for a
1.6 blocks-per-game mark. Fordham leads the A-10 in fewest turnovers (14.1 tpg)
and free-throw shooting (75.9 percent) and is second in scoring defense (52.3
ppg) and 3-point field goals (5.8 pg).
FORDHAM CLAIMS REGULAR-SEASON
MATCHUP - Courtney Webb scored a season-high 18 points and Lorreal Jones recorded her fifth
double-double of the season in Saint Louis' 61-56 loss to Fordham Feb. 17 at
Chaifetz Arena. Webb tied her career high with four 3-pointers (4-of-8). Jones
tallied 16 points and a team-high 12 rebounds, Desirae Ball netted 14 points and Jacy Bradley registered four assists. Fordham's Erin Rooney led all
scorers with 19 points to go with six rebounds and a game-high six assists.
Samantha Clark had 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks; Arielle Collins
scored 12 points; and Abigail Corning narrowly missed a double-double with nine
points and a game-high 13 rebounds, including seven offensive boards. Corning
added four assists. Leading scorer Marah Strickland missed the game due to
injury. The Billikens edged the Rams 43-40 on the boards - including a
season-high-tying 17 offensive rebounds - and tied their season low with seven
turnovers.
