ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis swimmers Zack Billingsley and Ryan McCoy have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference swimming and diving Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively. It is Billingsley's first accolade of the season and McCoy's second. The Billiken men have won all four A-10 weekly awards this season.
Billingsley led the Billikens to a 202-94 win over Western Illinois. He won four events and broke two school records. Billingsley was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:34.53) and 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:24.88), both of which set pool records in Macomb. Individually, he won the 50- (26.74) and 100-yard (59.35) breaststroke events.
McCoy continued to excel in the pool as a freshman. He also was a member of the record-breaking 200-yard medley relay team and won two individual events, the 200- (1:41.90) and 500-yard (4:38.32). His 500-yard freestyle mark is the third-fastest time in SLU history.
Billingsley, McCoy and the rest of the Billikens return to action this weekend, Oct. 17 and 18, at Simon Rec Center for a pair of home meets. Saint Louis hosts UALR and Maryville in a women's team only meet on Oct. 17 before the men and women UALR and Lincoln Oct. 18.
