PITTSBURGH – Jamesia Price scored a career- and game-high 19 points Thursday night in Saint Louis' 77-64 Atlantic 10 Conference loss to Duquesne at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Price, who tied her career best with a SLU season-high four 3-pointers, added six rebounds and four assists. Jackie Kemph registered 10 points and seven assists for the Billikens, who slipped to 8-9 overall and 1-3 in the A-10.
Sadie Stipanovich had nine points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while Erin Nelson tossed in nine points.
Duquesne (10-7, 2-2) was led by April Robinson's 15 points and nine assists. Olivia Bresnahan and Emilie Gronas scored 13 points apiece, Jose-Ann Johnson tallied 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Deva'Nyar Workman netted 10 points.
Duquesne scored the first five points and led 13-6 following Robinson's second 3-pointer of the first half. Stipanovich connected on a baseline jumper and Price made a layup to cut the lead to 13-10.
The Billikens went cold after that, however, and Duquesne took command with a 23-1 run. The Dukes led 39-18 at the break.
In the second half, Saint Louis chipped away and trailed 53-42 with 9:21 remaining after Nelson buried a long 2-point bucket and a 3-pointer on consecutive possessions. But Duquesne tallied the next five points to regain its grip.
