Box Score ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis baseball snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over visiting VCU. Additionally, the Billikens are one win away from the 30 win plateau. It would be the eighth 30-win season in SLU history and the sixth under head coach Darin Hendrickson.

Saint Louis jumped on the board early with an RBI single from Danny Murphy in the second inning.
VCU tied the game in the third to draw the score 1-1 heading to the fourth.
In the fourth, Murphy ripped his second RBI single of the day to give SLU the 2-1 lead. Mike Vigliarolo gave Saint Louis some insurance with a three-run blast to deep left field, his third home run of the season. Through four, the Billikens led 5-1.
Saint Louis scored again in the fifth on a lead off home run from Braxton Martinez.
The Bills wrapped up their scoring in the seventh on a VCU balk, bringing the final tally to 7-1.
Game two of the three-game series is tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Billiken Sports Center. Zach Girrens will get the start for SLU. Prior to first pitch, Saint Louis will honor one of the best teams in program history, the 1965 baseball team. The '65 team advanced to the College World Series, the only Saint Louis team to achieve the feat. That ceremony will begin at approximately 1:50.
