Hendrickson to be Inducted to SIUE Hall of Fame

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head baseball coach Darin Hendrickson will be inducted to the SIU Edwardsville Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the 1991 Cougar baseball team that won the NCAA Division II North Central Region Championship. That team later finished fifth at the NCAA Division II College World Series and set an SIUE record with 43 wins.

“I am honored to join my teammates from SIUE's historic 1991 College World Series team,” Hendrickson said. “I enjoyed my time at SIUE and spending time with the team. I am proud of this honor and to be a Cougar.”

Hendrickson, a pitcher, played at SIUE in 1990 and 1991. During his senior season in 1991, he posted a 10-4 record, the third-most wins in a single season at SIUE. He also recorded 10 complete games, the second-most all-time. In his Cougar career, Hendrickson posted 18 wins (11th all-time at SIUE), a 2.65 ERA (10th all-time), 17 complete games (eighth all-time), three shutouts (seventh all-time) and 2.46 walks per nine innings (14th all-time).

In eight years at Saint Louis, Hendrickson has posted a 265-188-1 record while winning the Atlantic 10 regular-season title in each of the past four years. He also has a SLU record with seven consecutive winning seasons. In 2012, Hendrickson was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, and in 2013 he was a honorable-mention Collegiate Baseball National Coach of the Year. He has been the coach of the eight 30-win seasons in Billiken baseball history
