ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis took part in the Forest Park Cross Country Festival on Friday with a pair of freshman leading the way.
“The Forest Park Cross Country Festival is truly one of the great meets in the Midwest every year, so it is always special to run at home. I'm pleased with our results today, but not satisfied. We learned a lot about our teams today against some great competition. Our youth and inexperience was exposed today, which we thought may happen. Despite this, we competed well and will continue to move forward with our season.”
On the men's side, freshman Sean Conlin finished 16th among NCAA Division I runners with a 5K time of 16:07. The Billikens' top six finishers in the meet were freshmen.
For the women, freshman Courtney Pfanstiel was the Billikens' top finisher, crossing the line 13th overall with a time of 19:14. All of the Billikens' participants in the meet were underclassmen.
