Billiken Athletics and Raising Cane's Team Up to Feed the Hungry

Raising Cane's believes no man, woman or child should go to bed hungry in America. Saint Louis University Athletics agrees.

Billikens Athletics and the popular Louisiana-based chicken finger chain announced a new partnership initiative called “Hoops for Hunger.” Between January and March 2016, at every home conference men's basketball game, Raising Cane's will make a donation for every three-point shot made by the Billikens to The Campus Kitchens Project, a non-profit, student-run organization that provides nutritious meals for those struggling with food insecurity.

Raising Cane's will present a check for the entire “Hoops for Hunger” campaign to Campus Kitchens during the Billikens' final home game on March 5 at Chaifetz Arena.

“When we learned about the amazing work SLU students were doing through The Campus Kitchens Project, we knew we wanted to support their efforts,” said Raising Cane's Area Marketing Director Lyndsey Carrel. “And as a proud sponsor of SLU Athletics, we thought we'd tie-in our fundraiser with Billikens men's basketball and add a little extra excitement to their three-pointers!”

The partnership between Raising Cane's and Billikens Athletics was garnered by Learfield Sports' Billikens Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Saint Louis Athletics.

In addition, Raising Cane's and Billikens Athletics will host food drives at two men's home games – Feb. 10, 206, in which fans bringing food donations will receive a buy-one, get-one free game ticket at the Billiken Ticket Office. On March 5, at the last regular-season home game of the season, Raising Cane's and Billikens Athletics will present a check to the Saint Louis University local chapter of The Campus Kitchens Project.
