THE BASICS
•Mackenzie Lawson delivered a two-out, three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Saint Louis a 6-4 victory over George Mason Friday night at the Billiken Sports Center.
•The Billikens improved to 19-22 overall and 8-10 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. George Mason fell to 20-27, 11-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Mason scored two runs in the top of the first inning.
•Allie Macfarlane drilled a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the first to cut the Mason lead in half.
•The Patriots recorded a single tally in the second to take a 3-1 advantage.
•The Billikens tied it in the third on Alex Nickel's fifth home run of the season, a two-run shot.
•George Mason plated an unearned run in the fifth and took the 4-3 edge to the bottom of the seventh.
•The first two Saint Louis batters were retired in the decisive inning. Nickel and Josie Knesel kept things alive with a walk and a single, respectively, before Lawson lifted a towering fly ball well over the wall in left-center. It was her fourth home run of the season.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Maddie Baalman evened her record at 11-11. Baalman struck out four while surrendering three earned runs and just five hits.
•Macfarlane added a single for a two-hit game.
•Emma Buckles registered her team-leading 11th double of the season.
