KINGSTON, R.I. – Saint Louis completed the 2018 Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
The men's team brought home an eight-place finish, while the women placed 12th.
Manuel de Backer was runner-up in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters in two closely contested races. On Saturday, he finished second by four thousandths of a second, pulling across the line in 14:49.11. In the 3,000 meters on Sunday, he again claimed the silver when he crossed in a personal-best time of 8:19.14.
Ryan Noonan captured the silver in the 800 meters. After finishing fifth in the prelims on Saturday, he improved to a second-place finish in the final to capture the runner-up finish.
The men's 4x800 meter relay of Kevin Ganahl, Noonan, Jon Schaefer and Tannock Blair earned the bronze with a school-record time of 7:40.70.
On the women's side, Ann Harlos qualified for the final in the 60-meter hurdles and posted an eighth-place time of 9.13. Katie Wissing finished eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.37 meters.
