THE BASICS

Jordyn Frantz scored a game-high 18 points and matched her career best of five 3-pointers, but Saint Louis dropped a 68-56 Atlantic 10 Conference decision to Rhode Island Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena.

The Billikens fell to 6-11 overall and 1-3 in the A-10. Rhode Island improved to 7-9, 2-2.

FIRST QUARTER

The Billikens grabbed a 6-0 lead on a pair of Frantz 3-pointers.

The Rams answered with an 8-0 run to go on top 8-6.

After Rhode Island used a 7-0 spurt to take a 17-10 advantage, Frantz buried another triple at the buzzer to narrow the margin to four.

SECOND QUARTER

The Rams pushed the lead back to seven points twice, the second time a 24-17 advantage with 7:15 left.

A 7-2 run brought the Billikens to within a bucket, 26-24, at the 1:35 mark.

With SLU trailing 29-24 in the closing moments, Ciaja Harbison drove for a layup to make it 29-26 Rhode Island at the break.

THIRD QUARTER

A Frantz triple and Harbison's short jumper put Saint Louis back in front, 31-29.

URI's Nicole Jorgensen sank two from the stripe with 6:22 remaining to give the Rams the lead for good, 33-32. The free throws sparked a 15-6 run that put Rhode Island on top 46-38 at the end of three.

FOURTH QUARTER

When Frantz connected on a jumper with 4:15 to play, the Rhode Island lead was down to four at 54-50.

However, that was as close as the Billikens would get. The Rams tallied the next 10 points to take command.
