THE BASICS
• Jordyn Frantz scored a game-high 18 points and matched her career best of five 3-pointers, but Saint Louis dropped a 68-56 Atlantic 10 Conference decision to Rhode Island Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena.
• The Billikens fell to 6-11 overall and 1-3 in the A-10. Rhode Island improved to 7-9, 2-2.
FIRST QUARTER
• The Billikens grabbed a 6-0 lead on a pair of Frantz 3-pointers.
• The Rams answered with an 8-0 run to go on top 8-6.
• After Rhode Island used a 7-0 spurt to take a 17-10 advantage, Frantz buried another triple at the buzzer to narrow the margin to four.
SECOND QUARTER
• The Rams pushed the lead back to seven points twice, the second time a 24-17 advantage with 7:15 left.
• A 7-2 run brought the Billikens to within a bucket, 26-24, at the 1:35 mark.
• With SLU trailing 29-24 in the closing moments, Ciaja Harbison drove for a layup to make it 29-26 Rhode Island at the break.
THIRD QUARTER
• A Frantz triple and Harbison's short jumper put Saint Louis back in front, 31-29.
• URI's Nicole Jorgensen sank two from the stripe with 6:22 remaining to give the Rams the lead for good, 33-32. The free throws sparked a 15-6 run that put Rhode Island on top 46-38 at the end of three.
FOURTH QUARTER
• When Frantz connected on a jumper with 4:15 to play, the Rhode Island lead was down to four at 54-50.
• However, that was as close as the Billikens would get. The Rams tallied the next 10 points to take command.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Frantz was 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. She added six rebounds, three steals and two assists to her 18 points.
• Frantz passed Jenny Vliet for 20th place on SLU's career scoring list. She has 1,031 points.
• Harbison tossed in 14 points to go with a game-high seven assists.
• Kendra Wilken scored 12 points – her career best vs. an A-10 opponent – and collected five rebounds, including a game-high-tying three offensive boards.
• Brooke Flowers and Evan Zars had six and five rebounds, respectively.
