Game Notes SLU | Tulane | Atlantic 10

Saint Louis plays old conference foe Tulane on Sunday in the first of three games in the Jerry Colangelo Classic, a tripleheader sponsored by the Basketball Hall of Fame. Game time is 12:30 p.m. (CT) at Talking Stick Resort Arena, home of the Phoenix Suns.

Saint Louis and Tulane both bring 7-1 records and four-game winning streaks into Sunday's contest. The Billikens are coming off a 69-60 win at home against Southern Illinois on Sunday, while Tulane won 61-56 at Southern Miss on Wednesday.

Here are five facts in advance of Sunday's game vs. Tulane:

1. As a team, the Billikens are tied for 14th in the NCAA with 42.5 rebounds per game. Individually, junior forward Hasahn French and junior guard Jordan Goodwin are tied for 16th in the NCAA with 10.4 rpg. Goodwin's 10.4 rpg is third among guards in the NCAA and first among players 6-foot-3 or less.

2. Freshman guard Gibson Jimerson is the reigning A-10 co-Rookie of the Week. For the season, Jimerson is averaging 10.0 ppg and leads the Billikens with 18 3-pointers (2.3 per game). His 43.9% shooting mark from distance would rank fourth in the A-10 and tied for sixth in the NCAA among freshmen, but he is just short of the statistical minimum of 2.5 makes per game to appear on the lists.

3. Freshman forward Jimmy Bell Jr. and sophomore guard Demarius Jacobs both attended prep school in the Phoenix area. Bell prepped at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, while Jacobs spent a year at Hillcrest Prep in Mesa.

4. This will be the 25th meeting between Saint Louis and Tulane. SLU leads the all-time series 14-10. The Billikens and Green Wave played regularly as league foes in the Metro Conference (1977-82) and Conference USA (1996-04).

5. Tulane, which finished 4-27 last season, is in its first season under head coach Ron Hunter. The Green Wave's top four scorers are all transfers and are playing in their first season at Tulane: Teshaun Hightower (Georgia), K.J. Lawson (Kansas/Memphis), Christion Thompson (Rhode Island) and Jordan Walker (Seton Hall).
