THE BASICS
• Jordyn Frantz scored 21 of her career- and game-high 24 points in the second half to lead Saint Louis to a 67-63 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Duquesne Wednesday at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
• The win – SLU's first over Duquesne in Pittsburgh – was the Billikens' sixth in eight games and lifted them to 12-13 overall and 7-5 in conference play. A-10 preseason favorite Duquesne fell to 12-12, 6-5.
• Ciaja Harbison had 18 points, seven rebounds, a game-high seven assists, and a career-, game- and SLU season-high six steals.
• Brooke Flowers tossed in 10 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, including a game-high four offensive boards.
• Myia Clark tallied nine big points off the bench on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
FIRST QUARTER
• Following three early ties, Duquesne used a 7-0 run to build a 14-7 lead.
• Kerri McMahan's jumper in the lane with three seconds left narrowed the Duquesne advantage to 19-16.
SECOND QUARTER
• McMahan's basket ignited a 10-0 spurt that put the Billikens in front 24-19. Harbison scored two straight buckets to give SLU the lead, and Flowers followed with two free throws and a layup to punctuate the run.
• Duquesne pulled to within a point twice, but Saint Louis held the lead and was in front 30-27 at the break.
THIRD QUARTER
• A Frantz layup on SLU's first possession was answered by a Duquesne 3-pointer, and it was 32-30 Saint Louis with 8:31 left.
• The Billikens gradually pulled away and established their first double-digit lead, 47-37, at the 3:43 mark. Frantz had eight of SLU's 15 points during the stretch.
• The Dukes narrowed the margin to six points twice, but Frantz finished the period with a jumper and a three-point play for a 55-44 Saint Louis cushion at the buzzer.
FOURTH QUARTER
• Duquesne chipped away and tied it at 61 on two free throws with 1:27 remaining.
• Frantz answered with a layup that put the Billikens back in front for good, and a Harbison free throw following a defensive stop made it 64-61 with 23 seconds to play.
• Duquesne missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer on its next possession but grabbed the rebound and drew a foul. Two free throws closed the gap to 64-63 with 12 ticks left.
• With nine seconds to go, Frantz sank two from the stripe for a 66-63 edge. The Billikens drew an offensive foul on the ensuing Duquesne possession, and a Tasia Jeffries free throw iced the victory.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• The Billikens shot 75 percent (18-of-24) from the free throw line.
• Frantz scored 20 or more points for a sixth time this season. She has 47 points over the last two games.
• Frantz tied Jenny Vliet for second place on SLU's career 3-pointers list (199). She also tied Harmonie King for the Billikens' season record for 3-pointers by a senior (62).
• Frantz was 9-of-10 from the foul line, setting career highs for free throws made and attempted.
• Harbison has scored in double figures in 20 consecutive games.
• Harbison has 17 steals over the last five games.
• Three of Harbison's seven rebounds came on the offensive glass, a career high.
