GENEVA, Ohio –
Grant Streid earned Saint Louis' first medal of the meet Friday on day three of the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at Spire Institute.
Streid finished third in the 100 fly, clocking a time of 48.30. The bronze medal is the fourth A-10 Championships individual medal of Streid's career.
Four other Billikens scored in the championship finals, including two in the 100 back –
T.J. Halliburton (fourth, 48.66) and
Keegan Paulson (fifth, 49.05).
Collin O'Brien finished fourth in the 100 breast (54.42), and
Sion Cavana placed fifth in the 200 free (1:38.11).
Also scoring for the men's team were
Preston Waldusky, 15th in the 400 IM (4:03.48);
Janssen Gamilla, 15th in the 100 back (50.31);
Tyler Guist, 16th in the 400 IM (4:07.81); and the 400 medley relay team of Halliburton, O'Brien, Streid and Cavana, fourth (3:16.61).
Emily Smith led the way for the Billiken women, finishing ninth in the 100 back in a school-record 55.29.
Katie Schmude was 13th in the 400 IM (4:24.99), while
Alexis Beine placed 15th in the 100 breast (1:04.38).
The women's 400 medley relay squad of Smith, Beine,
Bri Hodgkins and
Natalie Daniel was eighth (3:48.39).
The A-10 Championships conclude Saturday.
