ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University freshman Firaol Ahmed has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's men's cross country Rookie of the Week, the league announced today.
 
Ahmed placed 57th overall finisher at the Gans Creek Classic at the University of Missouri. He covered the 8K course in a time of 25:11.1. Ahmed helped the Billikens to an 11th place team finish in the event.
 
SLU, which won its season-opening meet at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open, broke into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's cross country regional rankings at No. 15 in the Midwest region.
 
The Billikens return to action Friday, Oct. 15, for the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois.
