ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis goalkeeper
Patrick Schulte earned Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period of Sept. 6-12, the league announced today.

Schulte played every minute between the posts last week as the Billikens topped Memphis 3-0 and played to a 1-1 draw at No. 8 SMU. Against Memphis, he made five saves for his second shutout of the year. Schulte posted three saves as SLU earned a hard-fought tie at nationally ranked SMU. The Mustangs' lone goal came on a PK.

It is the fourth A-10 weekly honor in Schulte's career. The reigning A-10 Defensive Player of the Year earned the accolade once his freshman season and twice last year.

Schulte is tied for the A-10 lead with two shutouts on the season. He has a 3-0-2 record and a 0.71 goals against average.

Among all active NCAA Division I goalkeepers, Schulte ranks 12th in the NCAA with a 0.83 goals against average and No. 21 nationally with 15 career shutouts.

Schulte and the Billikens are in action Tuesday night when they host SIUE for the Bronze Boot match at Hermann Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
