Women's Swim & Dive Tops WashU in Season Opener

ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis women's swimming and diving team opened the 2021-22 season with a 147-89 victory over Washington University Friday night.
 
In the men's competition, WashU claimed a 155-75 win.
 
The Billiken women, led by Natalie Daniel and Emily Leonard, won eight events. Daniel touched first in the 50 free (24.51) and 100 free (53.51), while Leonard collected victories in the 500 free (5:08.83) and 1000 free (10:31.60). They were joined by Amelia Carlson and Sophie Kishish for a win in the 200 free relay (1:40.13).
 
Also winning for the women's team were Tessa Horan in the 200 IM (2:12.21), Lauren Payton in the 200 free (1:58.57) and Emily Smith in the 100 back (58.93).
 
Harrison Misemer won the men's 3-meter diving with a score of 183.22.
 
The Billikens compete in the Butler Duals Sunday, Sept. 26.
