Cherico and Iffrig Earn All-Conference Honors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Saint Louis baseball's Ben Cherico and Riley Iffrig earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team honors, the league announced Tuesday.

Cherico, a senior right-handed pitcher from Ridgefield, Connecticut, was one of the Atlantic 10's top arms throughout the 2026 season. He finished with a 2.51 ERA in conference play, the second-lowest mark in the league, while posting a 3.11 ERA overall. Cherico recorded 76 strikeouts, fourth-most in the A-10, and limited opposing hitters to a .214 batting average, the fourth-best mark in the conference.

Cherico also became the first Billiken pitcher since 2007 to throw two complete-game shutouts in a season and was the only pitcher in the conference to toss two nine-inning complete-game shutouts this year. He earned Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week honors twice and finished the regular season with 84.0 innings pitched, the second-most in the conference.

Iffrig, a junior first baseman from Edwardsville, Illinois, was a consistent presence in the middle of the Billikens lineup all season. He started all 54 games for Saint Louis and hit .314 overall with a .418 on-base percentage. Iffrig led the Billikens in both hits and runs scored during the regular season. He recorded 17 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit performances and a 4-for-4 outing.

He also totaled 10 doubles, four home runs and 31 RBIs while recording 386 putouts and 24 assists defensively. Iffrig finished the season with a .988 fielding percentage and was part of 26 double plays.
