ST. LOUIS – Five Saint Louis University baseball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2026 Academic All-District Team.
Representing the Billikens are designated hitter
Chase Beattie, infielder
Joey Canzoni, outfielder
Hank Gomric and pitchers
Ty Holman and
Liam McKinney.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and compete in 90% of the institution's games played or start in at least 66% of the institution's games. For pitchers, student-athletes must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
Beattie is a bioethics and health studies major with a 3.733 GPA. He appeared in 44 games this season for Saint Louis. Beattie led the team in home runs and RBI this season with 11 and 37, respectively, and recorded nine multi-hit games.
Canzoni is a communication major with a 3.681 GPA. He appeared in 51 of 54 games this season, starting 51. He batted .226 with eight doubles, three home runs and 22 RBI. Canzoni posted a .948 fielding percentage with 38 putouts and 90 assists while helping turn 12 double plays.
Gomric is a finance major with a 3.668 GPA. He was one of two players to appear in all 54 games for the Billikens. Gomric batted .301 with 11 doubles, three home runs and 33 RBI. He posted a .992 fielding percentage with 117 putouts and stole six bases.
Holman is an accounting major with a 3.571 GPA. He started all nine games he appeared in and logged 40.2 innings pitched. Holman posted a 3.54 ERA with a 2-2 record, striking out 42 and allowing just 20 earned runs.
McKinney is a mathematics major with a 3.652 GPA. He appeared in 16 games with four starts and threw 38.1 innings for the Billikens. McKinney recorded three wins and a 4.71 conference ERA while holding opponents to a .221 batting average. He struck out 24 batters during the season.
