Bills Drop Games to Monmouth and Findlay

Fort Myers, Fla. - Saint Louis dropped two more games at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. The Billikens lost 4-1 to Monmouth and dropped a game to Findly by an identical 4-1 count.

Against Monmouth, the Billikens were able to muster only two hits and alllowed three unearned runs due to three errors. Monmouth grabbed an early 1-0 with a run in the bottom of the first and tacked on another run in the third. Monmouth added two more runs in the fourth for a 4-0 lead. Brigdet Fletcher drove in Denise Setchfield with the only SLU run in the top of the sixth. Jennifer Riva struck out three batters and allowed just one earned run over six innings.

The Bills managed six hits against Findlay, but weren unable to overcome Findlay's three-run second inning. The school from Ohio added a single run in the fourth. SLU earned one run back when Fletcher drove in Denise Setchfield, making her first pitching appearance of the year, went six innings and struckout four.

The Billikens see their record fall to 4-7 on the season.
