After a walk and a single, Lindsay Chouinard powered a three-run homer to stake DePaul to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. In the decisive fourth, the Demons used four hits, including a two-run homer by Shavaughne Desecki, to score six runs and stretch the lead out to 9-0. In the top of the fifth, the Billikens tallied two runs. Beth Puttcamp reached on a DePaul error and advanced to second. She moved to third on Beth Yagge's single.
