Atlanta - The Saint Louis University Billiken softball team battled all the way to the championship game at the Georgia State Tournament but fell in the title game 3-0 to host Georgia State on Sunday afternoon. The Billikens are now 7-6 on the young season.
The Panthers scored all three runs in the fifth inning. GSU led off the inning with two straight singles. They executed a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. But Corrie Roberts smacked a home run for the only runs of the game. GSU managed just four hits the entire game, but three came in the decisive fifth. The Billikens put the lead-off runner on in three of the first four innings but was held off the board each time. Saint Louis was limited to three hits for the game.
Freshman Heather Hubert pitched the distance for the Bills but took the tough loss.
