Box Score

Rock Hill, S.C. - The Saint Louis University Billiken softball team opened the Winthrop University Tournament by downing the host Eagles 5-0 on Friday night. During the game, senior Meredith Henry (Wildwood, Mo. / Eureka) broke the all-time home run record at Saint Louis University by smashing her seventh career homer. Henry's record-setting homer was a solo blast in the second inning. Her seventh career home run broke the previous mark of six set by Dawn Elser from 1986-89.

Saint Louis tallied one run in the second, three in the third and another single run in the fourth. The Billikens exploded for a season-high 13 hits as eight different SLU players tallied at least one hit. Sophomore Nicole Bohnenstiehl reached double-digit strike outs for the fourth time this season with 10 K's in the game and allowed just two hits.

The Billikens improve to 8-6 on the season. Due to inclement weather, the schedule has been adjusted for today and tomorrow. On Saturday, the Billikens will take on Bowling Green at 11 a.m. (CT) and then face North Carolina A&T at 3 p.m. (CT).
