Bohnenstiehl K's 17 In 6-0 Win Over UT-Martin

Louisville, Ky. - Nicole Bohnenstiehl set a school record with 17 strikeouts in a 6-0 win over UT-Martin as the Saint Louis University softball team opened the University of Louisville tournament on a high note. The win marked the first time in eight years the Billikens have won four straight games.

The Billikens pounded out six runs and five hits all in the decisive third inning and Bohnenstiehl dominated the Skyhawks. Jamie Hayden led four straight Bills to reach base and Beth Puttcamp singled to drive in two runs. Later in the inning, Adrie Bogaars doubled in two more. Meredith Henry added an RBI and capped the outburst by scoring on a wild pitch. Bohnenstiehl struck out at least one batter in each inning and struck out the side four times including four K's in the fifth inning.

The Billikens have won four straight and are 4-1 on the season. UT-Martin falls to 1-10 on the year.
