Hattiesburg, Miss. - Southern Miss pitcher Felicia Gonzales limited the Saint Louis Billikens to just two hits in a 2-0 victory on Sunday. The Lady Eagles won the three-game series 2-1. Gonzales, the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year, struck out five to pick up her fifth win of the season.

The Billikens had a chance in the first to take the lead. Erin Jeffery drew a walk, stole second and was moved over to third, but the Billikens could not bring her home. SLU put two runners on in the fourth, but again could not push across a runner. Billiken starter Nicole Bohnenstiehl kept Southern Miss off the board with just two hits in the first four innings, but USM struck in the fifth. The Billikens put runners on second and third with two outs in the seventh but were unable to tie the game.

Bohnenstiehl took the loss for the Billikens and fell to 5-4 on the season. Saint Louis is now 12-6 overall, 1-5 in Conference USA. Southern Miss improves to 14-14, 5-1 in C-USA. The Billikens host their home opener on Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Louisville at The Billiken Sports Center.
