Final Stats
Louisville, Ky. - The Saint Louis University softball team grabbed an early 1-0 over No. 12 Michigan, but the Wolverines rallied for an 8-1 victory in the opening game of the University of Louisville Invitational at Ulmer Stadium.
The Billikens took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Adrienne May had an RBI to score Beth Puttcamp. Saint Louis was poised for the upset, but Michigan demonstrated why it is ranked No. 12 in this week's poll. The Wolverines rallied with five runs in the fourth, and sealed the triumph with a run in the fifth and two in the seventh.
Nicole Motycka picked up her eighth win of the season with seven strikeouts and did not allow a walk. She surrendered just four singles to the Billikens. Kristin Rossi started her first game of the season and took the loss.
The Billikens drop to 12-9 on the season while the Wolverines improve to 18-6.
