Final Stats

St. Louis - The Saint Louis Billikens swept a doubleheader 3-0 and 3-2 over UT-Martin on Monday evening at The Billiken Sports Center. In the process, head coach Jim Molloy became the winningest softball coach at SLU with his 68th career victory, surpassing the previous mark of 67 by Vicki Schneider from 1978-1982.

Billiken starter Nicole Bohnenstiehl dominated game one, allowing just two hits in the game and striking out 11. The Billikens tallied one run in the bottom of the first with three hits in the inning. Erin Jeffery singled and stole second. Kerri Higgins singled and Jeffery took third. Bohnenstiehl drove in her 30th run of the season with a single to right to push the Billikens to a 1-0 margin. The Bills put the game away in the third with back-to-back homers by Beth Yagge and Bohnenstiehl. The effort marked the first time in the three-year history of The Billiken Sports Center that back-to-back home runs had been hit. Bohnenstiehl cruised and did not allow a UT-Martin runner to reach third base. The win was her 12th on the season.

UT-Martin took an early 2-0 in game two before the Billikens rallied to win. UT-Martin's leading hitter Amy Harclerode lashed a two-out single down the left field line to give the Skyhawks a 2-0 lead. The Billikens tied the game with two in the fifth. Pitcher Nicole Bohnenstiehl came on in the sixth inning and picked up her 13th win of the season.

The Billikens end the season at 24-27 overall. UT-Martin drops to 24-31.
