The Saint Louis Billikens split a pair of Conference USA games at Charlotte on Friday. In game one, Kara Sell blasted a two-run homer to push the Billikens to a 2-0 win. In the second tilt, a late Bills rally fell short in a 5-2 Charlotte win.
Game one was a duel between Kara Sell launched a ball over the wall at Phillips Softball Complex for the only runs of the game. Floccari made the margin stand by allowing just four hits and notching seven strikeouts.
In the second game, the 49ers erupted for five runs in the fifth. The Billikens were kept off the board until two runs scored in the top of the seventh. Adrienne May plated one, but the SLU rally fell short. Ashley Levan took the loss for the Billikens. SLU is now 9-13 overall, 2-6 in C-USA, while the 49ers are 11-21-1, 2-6 in the league. The teams will close out the three-game series with a single game on Saturday.
