Houston Holds Billikens To One Hit

April 10, 2005

Final Stats

Houston, Texas - Houston's Barbie Love held the Saint Louis attack to just one hit as the Cougars closed out a three-game Conference USA sweep of the Billikens with a 13-0 win on Sunday afternoon. The Bills fall to 13-20 overall, 4-11 in C-USA, while the Cougars move to 23-20 overall, 6-6 in the league.

UH's Jeanie Davis started a three-for-three day by doubling in two runs in the first for all the offense the Cougars would need. Logan Justice earned a walk, but she would be SLU's only baserunner until Christy Ernst worked a free pass in the fourth. Jenna Renner singled in the fifth inning to finally break up Love's bid for a no-hitter. After Love gave up the hit, she gave way to Crystal Briscoe who got the final two outs of the game. The Billikens were shut down by the Houston pitching staff which gave up only one run to the Bills in the series.

The Billikens are next in action at Eastern Illinois on Wed., April 13, when the teams play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. in Charleston, Ill.
