St. Louis - SMS ran past Saint Louis 15-3 in game one of a doubleheader, but game two ended in a 1-1 tie after a weather delay. The tied game was the first for Saint Louis since a 4-4 tie against Providence early in the 1990 season. The Billikens are 18-25-1, while SMS is 15-22-1.

SMS used an outstanding running attack in game one and eased to the win. The Bears scored a run in the top of the first. Sara Cole put down a bunt and took second after Samantha Fleeman was hit by a pitch. On a double steal, Cole swiped third and scored when the attempt to throw her out sailed into left field. Alicia Jager scored SMS' second run in similar fashion in the second. She stole third and scored when the throw bounced into foul territory. Whitney Peyton singled in a run, and Fleeman doubled in SMS' fourth run.

The Billikens inched back to 5-1 in the third when Kara Sell singled and took second on a ground out. Logan Justice lashed a single up the middle to chase Sell home. In the bottom of the fourth, Christy Ernst was hit by a pitch and advanced on a ground out. Ernst took third on Adrienne May's single. Ashlee Heady drilled a ball up the middle to pull the Bills to 5-2. However, SMS tacked on four runs in the top of the fifth. AshLeigh Williams reached on an error in the fifth and eventually scored on Ernst's RBI single.

In game two, both teams scored a run early before the contest settled into a pitcher's duel between SLU's Kara Sell hit a slow grounder to shortstop and was thrown out a first, but Heady sprinted all the way home to score. SMS answered in the top of the second. April Johnson singled, and Lacie Ballard came into the game as a pinch runner. Porche added a bunt single and both runners stole the next base. Alicia Jager plated Ballard with a single to right.

Floccari held SMS to just one hit over the next four innings, while Porche gave up only two hits through the fifth inning. The Billikens had a great chance to score in the sixth when Heady doubled with one out. She moved to third on a wild pitch, but the Bills stranded her there. SMS moved a runner to third base with one out, but Floccari kept the Bears off the board. She got a strikeout, but then allowed a walk. The runner then stole second to put runners at second and third. Floccari ended the threat by notching another strike out. The Bills nearly ended the game in the bottom of the seventh. Christy Ernst singled and took second when the ball skipped by SMS's left fielder. Ernst reached third after a ground out, but she was stranded there. The eighth inning was started but not completed, and after a delay due to weather, the game was ruled a tie.
