AT SEASON'S END - The Saint Louis Billikens finished the season with an overall record of 18-31-1, 4-20 in their final season as members of Conference USA.
PEEKING AHEAD - The Billikens will see new league foes in 2006 as Saint Louis University moves to the Atlantic 10 Conference. Next season, there will be 11 teams competing for the A-10 title. Along with Charlotte, the Billikens will face Dayton, Fordham, George Washington, La Salle, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure, Temple. Fordham won the 2005 A-10 regular-season title.
RUNS RECORD - Adrienne May scored 29 runs this season, falling just two short of the single-season record. The mark was set by Dawn Elser who touched home 31 times during the 1987 season.
FRESH MARK - Kara Sell drove in 21 runs this season, the most by a freshman in school history, and tied for seventh on the single-season list.
YO, ADRIENNE - Senior Adrienne May made her mark in her four-year career with the Billikens. She finished with 154 hits, the second-highest career total at SLU. May scored 84 runs to also rank second all-time. Her 51 steals is the third most, and her 50 walks place third on the program's all-time list.
COACH Jim Molloy - Jim Molloy completed his ninth season at the helm of the Saint Louis softball program. His career record stands at 123-328-1. Molloy is the winningest softball coach at Saint Louis and in 2003 led the Billikens to their first winning record since 1987.
DOUBLE A - Sophomore Allison Appenfeller (Leawood, Kan. / Blue Valley North) played in 30 games this season, making 21 starts ... had eight hits, including two doubles ... had a .981 fielding percentage.
IN EARNEST - Sophomore Christy Ernst (Lake St. Louis, Mo. / Wentzville Holt) started 24 contests and appeared in 40 ... hit .311 to rank second on the team in batting average ... drove in six runs.
HEADY PLAY - Junior Ashlee Heady (Belleville, Ill. / East) started all 50 games this season ... was second on the team in runs scored (15), hits (30) and RBI (17) ... was 6-for-7 on stolen bases ... led the team with 10 sac bunts.
LOGAN'S RUN - Junior Logan Justice (St. Louis, Mo. / Parkway South) played in 31 games and made 29 starts ... missed games early due to an injury ... hit .288 with 21 hits and nine RBI ... led the team in two-out RBIs with nine.
MAY DAY - Senior Adrienne May (Fairview Heights, Ill. / Belleville East) finished the season with a .345 batting average, sixth-highest in school history ... had 48 hits on the season, also the sixth-best single-season output ... accounted for 65 total bases, which tied for fourth on the single-season charts ... led the team with a .468 slugging percentage ... topped the team with 11 stolen bases ... hit .522 with runners in scoring position.
NIELSEN RATINGS - Sophomore Lise Nielsen (Wheat Ridge, Colo. / Wheat Ridge) suffered a preseason injury to her non-throwing shoulder and did not play a game this season.
BUY OR SELL - Sophomore Jill Pursell (Pinckneyville, Ill. / Pinckneyville) appeared in 29 games and made 10 starts ... finished with five hits and had two RBI.
LONG DISTANCE RENNER - Sophomore Jenna Renner (Belleville, Ill. / Althoff Catholic) made 30 starts on the season, mostly behind the plate ... had 12 hits, six runs scored and six RBI ... posted a .975 fielding percentage.
THE SHOE-MAKER - Senior Beth Schomaker (Germantown, Ill. / Breese Mater Dei) played in 47 games this season, including 44 starts ... had 19 hits and one home run ... drove in five runs and scored four times ... drew 16 walks.
THROW STRIKES - Senior Tiffany Thurow (North Aurora, Ill. / Rosary) played in 15 games, making six starts and appeared in the pitching circle 10 times ... scored four times on the season as a pinch runner ... made two starts in the circle and had one complete game.
ASHES, ASHES - Junior AshLeigh Williams (Festus, Mo. / Festus) had 23 hits, including two home runs, and eight RBI ... led the team with 236 putouts and a .982 fielding percentage.
BURNS UNIT - Freshman Jess Burns (Linn, Mo. / Helias) played in 19 games ... had one hit, drove in a run and scored three times ... did not have an error in eight chances.
EBB AND FLOW - Freshman Lorena Floccari (Tallmadge, Ohio / Walsh Jesuit) finished the season with 12 wins, a 4.19 ERA and 132 strikeouts ... 12 wins tied for the seventh most in a single season ... made 27 starts with 20 complete games and 195-1/3 innings of work ... registered five shutouts ... 40 appearances are the second-most in school history.
BERT AND ERNIE - Freshman Jody Herbert (Moline, Ill. / Alleman Catholic) started 42 games and hit .218 with one home run and eight RBI ... had 47 putouts, the third-highest total on the team.
FAR AND AWAY - Freshman Katie Hoffarth (Belleville, Ill. / Althoff) played in 48 games and made 47 starts ... hit. 216 with two home runs and eight RBI ... scored 11 runs to tie for third most on the team.
AROUND THE HORN - Freshman Samantha Horn (Dupo, Ill. / Dupo) played in 29 games and made one start ... had four hits in 12 at-bats ... scored three runs and drove in two runs.
THE VAN - Freshman Ashley Levan (Springfield, Ill. / Sacred Heart-Griffin) posted a 6-13 record with a 5.32 ERA ... registered four shutouts ... made 21 starts and 25 appearances ... notched 71 strikeouts in 93-1/3 innings of work.
NICK OF TIME - Freshman Kristi Rasnic (St. Louis, Mo. / Bishop DuBourg) appeared in 32 games, mostly as a pinch runner ... scored six runs and had one hit on the season.
CASEY AT BAT - Freshman Casey Schomaker (New Baden, Ill. / Wesclin) played in 13 games and scored one run.
KARA ON - Freshman Kara Sell (Chandler, Ariz. / Corona del Sol) led the team with 21 RBI ... was third on the team with 29 hits and tied for third with 11 runs scored ... with a runner on third with less than two out, delivered an RBI 11 times in 19 opportunities ... tied for the team lead in multi-RBI games with four.
