Baseball Suffers First Shutout of Season

ST. LOUIS - The Saint Louis Billikens suffered their first shutout of the season in a 12-0 loss to the Massachusetts Minutemen. The Bills fall to 26-13 on the year and 8-7 in the conference.

The Minutemen scored early and often. They opened up the game with a six-run first inning, and scored in all but two frames. Saint Louis starting pitcher Damian Rivera takes the loss after allowing three doubles and a walk to the game's first four batters. Freshman Dave Roberto and redshirt junior Marco Mejia were the only pitchers to not surrender an earned run to the Minutemen.

Freshman Alec Sole and Junior Mike Levine were the top Billiken hitters. Sole was 2-for-3 and Levine was 2-for-5.

Saint Louis will return to action on Wed., April 25 when they take on the SIU Edwardsville Cougars at the Billiken Sports Center. Earlier this month, the Billikens defeated the Cougars 5-1 at Edwardsville.
