played (127), fifth in digs (1,212), 13th in points (1,143.5) and 14th in
service aces (102) on SLU's all-time lists. She was named to the Atlantic 10
All-Conference second team and the A-10 Championship All-Tournament team as a
junior in 2009, and she was All-Conference honorable mention in her senior
season.
Boken played on
Billiken teams that won two A-10 regular-season titles (2008, 2009), captured
the 2008 A-10 Championship crown and made two NCAA Championship appearances
(2008, 2009).
Boken was a 2011

business administration with a concentration in marketing. She earned a place
on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for academic excellence and was a member
of SLU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
"Megan was a
vibrant young woman and a wonderful representative of Saint Louis University
and Billiken athletics," director of athletics Chris May said. "In addition to being a
great student, she was an outstanding athlete and an important part of our
championship volleyball teams.
"All the
qualities we value in a Saint Louis student-athlete were reflected in Megan,"
May said. "She contributed as much in the classroom and in the community as she
did on the court. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."
Boken, born in 1989, was originally from Wheaton, Ill., where she was an All-State volleyball
player at Wheaton St. Francis High School and a member of the Spartans' 2004
and 2006 state championship teams.
Saint Louis
Campus Ministry representatives and members of the University's Student Health
and Counseling Services staff have met with SLU student-athletes and are
